Who Do you Think You Are I've watched a few episodes of the BBC's Who Do You Think You Are on UK TV, and really enjoyed it. I guess it's a reality programme, where certain celebrities search their heritage and family tree.Wouldn't it be great if Mandana was on the programme finding out about her family tree. Julia Sawalha was one of the celebrities on the show. She discovered that on her mothers side - they were French Huguenots. Also she went on a trip to Jordan, her fathers heritage. Wouldn't it be great if Mandana was on this show too!

I hear there are talks in the works for a Law & Order: London. Could they be looking for someone tall, dark and beautiful to play one of the district attorneys? (I know that's the wrong terminology for UK law. Would it be barrister?) Though the full-time work would probably be a deterrent, Dick Wolf is infamous for not really caring one way or the other if an actor stays, so she wouldn't be locked into a long-term contract.
Thoughts?

I love Law & Order and it's exactly the sort of programme I could see Mandana in. I have often thought that playing a lawyer/barrister would be right up her street.
It's funny really because she is, clearly, seen by casting directors as being a doctor (either medical or scientific) and I would imagine quite a few fans could envisage the law roles and yet her most successful role was, in some ways, playing against type.

I could definitely see Mandana in 'Law & Order' (as a good guy, of course . I would love to see her in a comedy. It's so totally opposite the serious roles she plays. She's such a great actress, I know she would pull it off effortlessly.

With the departure of Tamzim Outhwaite from Hotel Babylon, the stylish Ms Jones would have made a terrific general manager.

Found a perfect role for Mandana. Now that John Nettles is quitting Midsomer Murders I would love to see Mandana replace him. ;D All she needs to do is see that CAM gets her an audition. But will she be interested in a job outside London? I know its a major part and there will be other big names vying for this role but she should still give it a go. Maybe she'll be lucky this time. She deserves it in my view. *OK Just like to add I have no idea if Det.Barnaby will be replaced with a female Detective. Was getting just a bit ahead of myself.

I hear there are talks in the works for a Law & Order: London. Oh. My. God. It is worse than dire. Caught the second episode this week and it just does not work. It has that 'duh duh duh' musical thing between changes of location just like the original but there the comparison ends. For some inexplicable reason, they have cast a British comedian as the lead copper - clearly cast for his cheeky, chappy, chirpy cockneyness rather than acting ability. Yes, but they cast Devla Kerwan. I could just hear her saying "this is no ordinary Law & Order. It's a crap, insult to the original, pointless Law & Order" Sorry, I suspect the last comment will go over your head unless you are based in the UK. This might explain it www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHFKE6PD_6U&feature=related

I'd never seen this actress, so I googled her name to get a face. She is totally a Mandana Jones clone!! Talk about Mandana being made for the role (if the casting director was simply aiming for a "look"). Should I try and see if I can download an episode or two? Or is it one of those "avoid at all costs" things?

I'd never seen this actress, so I googled her name to get a face. She is totally a Mandana Jones clone!! It had not occurred to me until you mentioned it but there is a facial similarity. Dervla came to prominence in Ballykissangel. It was a Sunday feel good drama about a priest (Stephen Tompkinson) who moves to a remote Irish village. He falls in love with the local bar maid (Kerwan). The two actors had brilliant chemistry and the 'will they, won't they' scenario was very popular at the time and played out over 3 series or so. There was an added element when the two actors became an item in real life. I do really rate Dervla and she is not one of those performers who is all over the TV. Should I try and see if I can download an episode or two? Or is it one of those "avoid at all costs" things? I'd be interested to know what you think of it - whether I am being to critical.

The Three Sisters, a play by Anton Chekov, is getting some really good reviews here, based on the production at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. Though Lucy Peacock is closer to 40 than to the 25 her character is meant to be, she particularly is getting rave reviews. Just thinking if Mandana wanted to return to the theatre...

Again, opening up a very old thread but that us the perogative of a new and active board member. What would I like to see Mandana in? Well besides anything and everything umm.... •Midsommer murders was mentioned and, although the new DI has been cast now, it would be great to see her make a guest appearance in it as one of the suspects! •Theatre wise - I could really imagine her as[Mrs] Sybill Birling in 'An Inspector Calls'. I have seen the play many times, studied it at school and am now studying it again with the kids I help and I just think Mandana would be able to do that part so well! The only thing is that if she ever did and I was lucky enough to persuade the school to let me go on the trip I would embarrass the kids so much with my swooning! •Also theatre wise, I have no idea of Mandana's singing voice but I could so imagine her as 'Mad Margaret' in Gilbert and Sullivan's Ruddigore. Here are links to a couple of her songs/scenes and I think you'll agree she'd be fab! (Plus it one if my fave shows ever and being G&S I would prob know other cast members so could get backstage! Lol) www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qzss9cul5ck&feature=youtube_gdata_playerwww.youtube.com/watch?v=2oZG1PNubGc&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Would like to see her do some theatre with Hugh Jackman. Not that I have anything in mind- I just think that pairing would be amazing.

Jackman and Jones, I like it.
I don't remember which interview it was that Mandana said that she would like to work with Phillip Seymor Hoffman. She could have very easily played Harper Lee in Capote. Hoffman does theater in London at times, maybe it will happen.
