BTW the journalist is related to that guy who wrote Dr Zhivago
I noticed that, jilly. It reminded me of that post made a while back - you know the one where a supposed Mandana fan made up a whole list of reasons why a non existant fan might not like her
Jenny says there’s no way MJ got that Boris P. quote exactly right in Curve, so maybe it wasn’t even a spoken interview and maybe the whole thing was a carefully crafted exchange.....
At the time I didn't respond to the ridiculous list by shooting a hole through each 'example' because I didn't want to rise to the bait (as that was clearly what the poster wanted) but this was a particularly daft example because Mandana has stated in interviews that she studied English at A level. Remembering quotes is what you do .
What might also be the case, given this interview, is that Mandana is connected in some way to the Pasternak family. She is the same age as the author of this interview and the quotes appear to come from friends within Anna Pasternak's circle. What I mean to say is that it seems a personal piece and it doesn't feel like she's just picked random people to interview - its people she knows. Does that make sense?
I do think we're breaking away from the stringent dogma of organized religion that "spirituality" has been associated with
I agree, coolbyrne. If someone mentions 'spirituality' now, I don't think 'going to church', I think of it as developing one's inner life.
One quote (not from Mandana) made me smile
'Now people without a spiritual edge have become really boring to me,' she says, 'as I find a lot of them are negative and interested only in material things as opposed to realising that there is another dimension to life.'
There's nothing better than a bit of retail therapy and a good moan......
