I do understand, operagoth, honestly. I am a musical theatre performer myself. I hate to see productions where I have played a particular role in the past. I can completely understand that it must be 1000 times more difficult if you originated the role. I think what annoyed at the time was that she was suggesting that no one else could play her role but didn't really extend the same courtesy to Jack Ellis playing Fenner.
As you say, she is no doubt a lovely lady but she did have a tendency to come across a little fake and didn't really appear to give credit to her co stars.

S'ok I get it. Trouble is in interviews actors tend to be 'mouth before brain' and stuff comes out all wrong.
