I've just copied this over from the 'what's this article from?' thread.
Jilly, now that coolbyrne has posted the full interview, the line before Mandana makes the statement about crying over a rock number, points to the fact that she was joking - '"I had to listen to that eight times a week" Jones says faux stoney faced'. I agree that the quote on it's own without this sentence before it could suggest she was being serious.

That was interesting reading-Thanx for posting it CB. BTW Mandana says she didn't want to read books and write anymore essays so opted out of going to college. But as far as I know universities in the UK have just classes whole year and you write exams at the end of each academic year. So no essays and no reading atleast 3/4th of the year. Unless things have changed.

Unless things have changed. Whoar. Not sure where you got your info from jilly It's all about essays and reading at British Uni's. They attend tutorials but the rest is research etc. Mandana mentions specifically her head of English which suggests one of her A levels was that subject and a possible Uni option. Yes, they would take an end of year exam but reading and essays is the majority of their work, especially if doing English.
