Yes, I've decided that the motto for the Green Flag ads about sums up what it's like waiting for a new Mandana role.
It also describes how I feel waiting for everyone who's now seen Mandana's past roles via the DVD mailout to start discussing what they've seen!!!
Come on, let's hear what you all thought of Ria the bunny boiler and Mandana's sheep throwing skills.
Which role was your favourite?

I think part of the problem is, we're so used to having all that time to watch Nikki Wade, that we took it for granted a bit. Because now, even in roles like London Bridge, we only get a teasing taste of what she was like before -cut!- it's over. So it's hard to get a feel of what these other characters/roles are like. That being said, even though it was a one-off, I will never, ever forget her role in Robin Hood. Ever.

That being said, even though it was a one-off, I will never, ever forget her role in Robin Hood. Ever. Indeed. It was an....erm....experience! What was with the partly dubbed voice? Sometimes it is quite clearly Mandana doing an American accent and, other times, it's some inexplicable dubbing by a Barbie doll. It's not as if the dubbing is even very good. There is one point where Mandana clearly mouths 'Robin Hood' but Barbie girl says just 'Robin'. I hear what you are saying about other characters just being snap shots because they only last one episode but I did enjoy Mandana's performance in Powers which did give the chance for character development and chemistry between the four leads. Also I think it was a shame that Ria was not built into a bigger and better baddie in Doctors. The character was clearly bought in to mark the demise of Dr Ford. I have often wondered if the actor had cut his contract short and that is why it was condensed into just 5 episodes. It could have been a real slow burner but ended up being rushed. Ria went from a wronged wife to psycho in barely 60 minutes of filming!!!

I SO agree with what you said about the role in 'Doctors'. Something was dreadfully wrong that the storyline and Mandana's role were so manically rushed! It could have been developed and given Mandana an opportunity to shine and display her virtuosity. Sure it was a soap opera but the role could have been juicy. I also will never forgive the writers for the denouemnet of the Fords. Talk about 'Tis Pity She's A Whore'! Two people die in horrible circumstances and their children are left orphans! I never saw that ending coming - especially so quickly!

I actually think she could have won the award she was up for - if only the story had gone on for a season or so. If you remember, the award was won by an actress playing a very similar type role in Coro and her character name was Mia!!! At the time, I can remember thinking it was a shame that Mandana was playing the role in Doctors rather than a bigger soap because the villains are always remembered and get offered work elsewhere. BTW I see that dreadful, dreadful actress from Doctors (the scottish nurse, remember her???) is one of the new leads employed by Shed in Waterloo Rd. Same droning voice and lack of charisma or any acting ability whatsoever. They've also re employed Eva Pope (who is very good, to be fair?). There has just got to be a reason why neither Simone nor Mandana have ever been cast in anything by them since. Just look at all the other actors who they have re used: Josh and Renee went into FW Zoe Lucker did FW, BG and Bombshell Denny went into Bombshell Fenner was in The Fugitives Eva Pope went from BG to Waterloo Rd Denise Welsh was signed to be in BG, fell pregnant and is now in WR instead. Bodybag was in Coro when they were the writers. No doubt she'll turn up in something of their's soon
