I think you've hit the nail on the head coolbyrne. Unless she's shrinking carrying her little boy around. [Mod: edited to fix your quote function. ]

I think you've hit the nail on the head coolbyrne. Has it resulted in the nail losing an inch?? No, seriously, I think it is very likely you are right coolbyrne. Spotlight has always had Mandana listed as 5' 9" so it makes sense for consistency. I think Mandana did tell someone during Othello that she was 5' 10". Little white lies going off somewhere. Not to mention her current photo saying it was taken in 2005 when it was about in 2001. At least she's never lied about her age

Ain't appeared "you know where" as yet. Rest assured, both gingercat and I will have our beady eyes on everything "Bill-wise". It took a week! But yet I don't see any hearty nod to the initial source of the news. Oh yes MJ's agents have confirmed it--- confirmed what is already on the CAM website. What genius!!

To be honest Jilly, I don't care. The news was here first. It can be papered over any way other sites choose but we know the reality. I do give points for the amazing armoury of excuses that have appeared over the years. It's quite an art form in itself. Anyway, it's only as we all expected. Any Mandana news will quickly get buried by news about another performer anyway. It is a tradition that, if there is a Mandana thread, someone will always resurrect any old non Mandana related thread to push it from the top. At least we know we can look forward to 2 episodes of The Bill and, hopefully, a few more roles in the not too distant future. Let's all concentrate on that ;D

Yeah why make a show of an announcement only to be relegated and hidden in a corner. Mandana should feel really honored. I think the site should be renamed. How does 'The Helen and Alex mb' sound?

Nothing surprises me anymore, whether it be their excuses or their inability to give credit where credit is due. I also agree that there's little use in banging on about them, because if history's taught us anything, it's the fact that nothing about them will change. Let's focus on Mandana!

So, what are the predictions for this role? There are endless possibilities.
My guess is that she will be a solicitor. In some ways that might be disappointing because those roles, inevitably, result in lots of scenes not saying anything whilst 'copper' and 'suspect' have all the lines!

Good question tc If she has a name, which appears to be the case, I doubt it will be just the "nodding donkey" solicitor. Perhaps a visiting DI, rather like the Lisa May Brice character, a gangster's Moll, a grieving parent, a Farsi-speaking interpreter, mother of one of the established younger cops, somebody's ex? I could go on and look forward to reading what others have to suggest. Just hope it leads to further roles in The Bill or elsewhere.

My prediction is that Mandana will be playing Nancy Randall in the two parter 'Proof of Life' to air in November. It's a German-English production.

'Proof of Life' is directed by Robert Del Maestro and not Diana Patrick. ;D She could be playing someone who has newly moved in those nearby council estates and called the Bill to complain about some disruption by the gangs members? Or since her last role was as a counselor she could be playing a police psychiatrist. Or someone from Internal Affairs investigating police misconduct.

See, I told you the scenarios were endless ;D We all seem to be leaning towards professional - visiting DI, Internal Affairs, Police Psychiatrist.... My favourite is Farsi speaking interpreter What if she's a victim? How about a high class Madam.... Interesting about Bill Ward. His episodes are being aired in December and so it could be the new year before Mandana's ep's are shown - unless they are filmed ad hoc.

Looking further into this link I see Louise Lytton is leaving. Never did quite see her as a PO somehow. Now, if Mandana is a PO in her two episodes, perhaps there'll be an opening for further appearances. One can live in hope. This looks like a very useful link, gingercat, I shall add it to my favourites.

Maybe her character will be an identity theft expert who's bought in to Sun Hill when unsavoury stalker fans from 10 years past assume the online identity of a tv actress that has resulted in her feeling the need to ring up a national paper
