Since this is the #1 trending topic everywhere, I thought I'd throw my opinion on the pile! I bring this up because one of my managers decided to bring it up at a team meeting yesterday and, considering how I'm still pretty new there (only five weeks into the job), I thought it best not to voice a dissenting opinion. So you guys get to hear it instead. Basically, I would just encourage people to do some research into any hot topic, rather than just re-tweet it or "like" it. Yes, Joseph Kony has done awful, horrible things. Yes, he is still on the run. But there's more going on in Uganda than the hunt for a war criminal, and I fear these points are either getting overlooked in the frenzy of moral outrage- "This guy's evil and these crimes are atrocious!" (as if no one would feel that way)- or what is becoming "slacktivism" (I'll feel better about myself if I join the crowd and forward the link; aka "click and forget"). Let's look at the current state in Uganda. Let's look at Invisible Children. Let's look at the history of Joseph Kony and what's been attempted in the past to apprehend him. Let's inform ourselves instead of just clicking a button. One critical blog
