Well, it's nice to finally get to see another of the clips Mandana clearly donated for all her fans to see.
How fascinating to see Mandana and Simone interacting in their pre BG roles in London Bridge.
Definitely a better dressing gown from the wardrobe department ;D
Quite a risque scene really for a tea time soap!

Are we allowed to talk about it off the original site?? Well it will be on youtube very soon because an account has apparently been set up......... Anyway, very sureal to see Mandana with the man and Simone being the uncomfortable outsider. My main observation is that Mandana is a very different character.....

The dvd cover looks like an animated version of the characters. This is a proper picture, I think Poor Mandana always gets shoved to the back...

It's because she's so damn gorgeous the other actors wouldn't let her in front! Lol

If I remember school class photos correctly, the tall ones always go to the back, the shorties (like me!) to the front.

My London Bridge DVD has just arrived. Have seen a couple of episodes. It's suprisingly good ;D Apparently, these first episodes were shown late at night. It was only later that they made them more of a tea time affair. As a result, from what I have seen, they are a bit more racy than I expected!!! From the first few episodes: Simone's character is.....Scottish. Taggart man is NOT Scottish and seems to be a baddie. Mandana's character appears to be sex mad. Lol. In the early epsiodes, Mandana's scenes have consisted of her trying to get her boyfriend to watch porn and jumping on him at every opportunity. He appears to have 'a problem' in the bed department that she is keen to rectify . The character is so far removed from Nikki and it is weird to see her and Simone in a whole different situation - although there have been no scenes together yet. My suspicion is that the clip we have seen on you tube where they meet (when Mandana's character is giving the bf a massage) is imminent. One of her very first scenes has her in what appeared to be a really classy suit but she was carrying a motorcycle helmet!!! Before anyone accuses me of being mean to Simone and her role, a character asks 'what's the new tenant like?' Response 'She's Scottish'. Lol Has anyone else got their copies yet?

I have to wait til Xmas for mine as it on my list! Never mind. It is actually worth the wait ;D Have seen a bit more now. Simone is in it about 75%. Mandana 25%. Simone's story arc is very serious. Mandana is the comedy relief. For those of us who have wanted to see Mandana do something light hearted - this is it. Her character is a complete arse and, if real, you would want to punch her in the face! She has some incredibly bitchy lines and a lot of them are aimed at Simone's character They both look incredibly young. For any fan of either actress it is worth the £10 cost of the DVD. I just hope they release more.

I think we're going to try and get a copy around Christmas, too. Will have to see if our DVD player will play PAL formats.

Can't tell you how much I am itching to discuss this programme! There must be someone out there who's got their copy too?? Have I really got to wait until you all get visited by Santa? Surely, seeing Mandana dancing to 'wake me up before you go go' is enough of a carrot...

I'll ramble on to myself . I've been really pleasantly suprised by the standard of LB. If I am honest, I expected it to be a bit crappy. In reality, it's quite a good little drama and it's a shame it was locked away and exclusive to the London region. One reviewer has put that it shows that tv serial drama has actually declined over the last 15 years by comparison. Simone's character (Mary) is the serious story and the main plot and, to be fair, she acts her socks off. However, the character could easily be Helen Stewart pre Larkhall. She actually says to one character 'my Dad thinks I'm a dyke'. She seems to drink a lot and sleep with inappropriate men when drunk. Mandana's character (Sam). The best description I can think of is Margo Leadbetter for the 90's (that reference may be lost on many of you). She is a complete snob and an infuriating, pc correcting 'modern woman' who takes every opportunity to 'correct' people or patronise them. She is quite slapable!!! She swans around at one point in a kaftan and bandana. Yes, Mandana in a bandana... Is there chemistry? nada. Can I see Helen and Nikki? Only on two occasions. The first - I won't spoil the scenario - when Sam comes to Mary's aid and even the set could be the Larkhall walls. The other scene is at a party where Sam gets drunk and bounds around dancing to Wham. She's in a red top and black trousers (almost Nikki's uniform) and actually starts shimming around Mary with a bottle of beer in her hand. It's also fascinating to watch Mandana's acting style change. I think this was her first time on TV and she had spent all her years, after training, on stage playing classical roles where you have to make every gesture, facial expression large enough for the audience in a theatre. At the start of LB, she is a little more theatrical and it tones down through the episodes. In BG, I think she became a master of working with a camera and saying a lot by doing nothing. I will stop there for now. I don't want to spoil the actual storylines, in case anyone wants to do that when they have seen it!
