I missed that about Debra Stephenson being Antons original partner...wonder how she would have done..better than Kate I am sure. Loved the show tonight..thought Matt was better than Alesha but Hub dissagreed. Think it should be John out...can hardly wait till 10.30 when I shall be trawling DS for the result

Its John & Nicole out...Kelly & Brendon were saved by the judges. I'm not surprised at either of these two being in the bottom two. John just didn't make any progress at all during the weeks and relied on his natural rhythm to see him through. Kelly, for some reason thinks she knows better than Brendan and I'm coming round a bit more to liking Brendan. He certainly can dance. I voted this week for Alesha, I don't want to see her get knocked out on someone's whim. Kenny was much better and at least he is trying to take on board what the judges say each week. Unless Kelly mends her ways or someone has a real disaster I can see her going next week.

BBC news
Brook quits Strictly Come Dancing
The 28-year-old had vowed to continue rehearsals for Saturday's live show in his memory, but found it "too difficult", said a BBC spokeswoman.
Brook's father, Kenneth, 57, died following a long battle with cancer.
"Kelly has been a fantastic part of the programme and will be sorely missed by everyone on the show," she added.
The spokeswoman said that the programme's participants "would also like to express their deepest sympathy to Kelly and her family at this difficult time".
Brook and professional dance partner Brendan Cole had been among the favourites to win the series.
"Kelly would like to wish the remaining contestants the best of luck and thank everyone for their support," said her spokesman in a statement.
The former Big Breakfast presenter is engaged to Titanic actor Billy Zane.
In last week's show Brook and Cole's performance was criticised by the judges, who said they had not performed to their usual high standard.
Cole reacted angrily to the judges comments, claiming he and Brook only had eight hours to rehearse the routines.
The couple ended up in the bottom two after the viewers' vote - but they were saved from being ejected after judges chose former England footballer John Barnes to leave instead.
Saturday's show is the first time the remaining couples will perform two dances.
Singer Alesha Dixon, actress Letitia Dean, former rugby star Kenny Logan, Blue Peter host Gethin Jones and EastEnders actor Matt D'Angelo are still in the competition.
The grand final of the show, which takes place on 22 December, will now contain two couples instead of the traditional three.

Letitia & Kenny in the last two with Kenny out..think that is the right result.

Letitia & Kenny in the last two with Kenny out..think that is the right result. Definately the right result. Kenny has improved a lot but he was still streets and streets behind everyone else. Was worried that Arlene's ridiculously insulting comments about him and the choreography would influence the public sympathy again. Letitia looked really ill last night, as if she would collapse any minute. I know hitting 40 is traumatic but.......... Why are they so mean to Gethin? They keep saying he has no charisma or chemistry. I think he's a lovely performer and has bags more charm than Matt. I think Letitia will be out next week but it's getting hard now because all those left are good.

Well its not confirmed yet but I believe that Alesha & Letitia were in the bottom 2 & Letitia was voted off.Shame because she was much better than Matt this week..he was awful..Gethin was fabulous & I think he should win.

Gethin was fabulous & I think he should win. We seem to be the kiss of death on this thread!!! Unbelieveable voting by the judges this week. Really don't understand it. I also understand that yet another mediocre singer won X Factor. Not really sure why they continue with these talent shows. Only Will Young has gone on to a prolonged career. I realise that Leona whatseherface has dominated the charts recently but I suspect she'll disappear soon. Well, I hope she does because I can't bear the wailing - it hurts my ears nearly as much as the female singer on Strictly. At least Rydian can take heart from the fact that the biggest 'talent show' success, Lamar, only came 3rd on Fame Acadamy and those that beat him sank without trace.

I was busy with my parents Golden Wedding when SCD returned last week and so missed the opportunity to resurrect this thread. Mods - is it possible to amend the title to exclude Ms Beacham? Seems silly to start a new thread. Anyway, I enjoyed the lady contestants last night. There wasn't an obvious lame duck as in the past two years (GMTV presenters : . How fabulous was Cherie Lunghi? So nice for a mature perfomer to genuinely do well. They have paired her with someone who doesn't emphasize her age too. I have never understood why, when using older contestants, they don't pair them with older professionals. It instantly puts them at a disadvantage for those fickle voters IMO. Anyway, I look forward to seeing the men next week. Austin Healy looks very good as does that chap called Tom (not sure who he is!) Shall I resist digital spy

Oh poor old Don and Lillia. I didn't feel they deserved to go this week. Neither did Heather and Brian who were also in the bottom two. It's the first week of this new series where I didn't feel the weakest dancer was voted off. Mark and Andrew should have been in the dance off.
I think John Sergeant is a sweetie. I know his dances are clearly a lot slower than everyone elses but he is getting the steps, timing and rhythm right. I also think his partner is choreographing appropriately for him.
I thought Lillia seemed completely devastated. So was Mr TC who is rather fond of Ms 'Cockalegover' as he likes to call her.....
