Oh poor old Don and Lillia. I didn't feel they deserved to go this week. Neither did Heather and Brian who were also in the bottom two. It's the first week of this new series where I didn't feel the weakest dancer was voted off. Mark and Andrew should have been in the dance off. I'm in total agreement with you, for once, tc. Complete travesty of justice! One of the two wooden tops should have gone. Mark Foster gives me the creeps and Andrew Castle has one of those voices that always sounds smarmy. Get 'em off, they're rubbish! Starting to play the "I'm a sweetie" card? I do like him but I hope he doesn't flog the "I know the voters will save me" too much.

I'm in total agreement with you, for once, tc. Steady on es ;D Well, your wish has been granted es. Mark took his chest home last week and no more droning from Andrew after this week. Apparently, there is a "pink dress" curse. It is an amazing fact that every week so far, one of the bottom two female competitors (celeb or pro) has been wearing a pink dress except week 2 when Gillian Taylforth went. Last night both Heather Small and Ola Jordan were in pink Austin and Tom are both excellent. I also think Jodie Kidd is coming on really well. Her waltz was lovely last night. Cherie seems to be struggling at the moment, especially with the latin dances. John, well, I reckon he might last another week and then it's time for him to go. He is funny and, so far, a really good dancer hasn't gone at his expense but most people left are quite good now and it would be a shame if he became the next Chris Parker.....

Andrew deserved to be in the bottom two along with JS, who is rapidly getting on my nerves. I cannot stand his overweening assumption that "everyone out there" wants him to stay. Get him off. I haven't voted this year, so far as all my choices have been safe. Next week I'm voting for Heather, regardless. Can't disagree with you re the two men. I have a soft spot for Tom but wouldn't mind if Austin went all the way. For me, the women are much of a muchness, with Heather the weakest. I think Cherie has suffered with the dances she'd had to do the past two weeks and she's no spring chicken. Hope she keeps hanging in there. One for the "oldies".

Flaming heck! He's still there, blo**y disgraceful, if you ask me. Not even in the bottom two! I know it's entertainment but when others are sweating their guts out, learning new steps and dances, and he comes along and is soooo pathetic, it makes my blood boil. If he doesn't go next week - I give up. True to my word, I voted for Heather. Might as well of saved my money.

I did think about your post of support last week when she got voted off ;D I think you'll find that last year we kept endorsing people who promptly got the boot the very next week! So, just for you es - I shall vote for John I have to say that, since Mr T and I started dance lessons earlier this year, we are finding it even more entertaining but the camera work is really annoying. I want to see their feet and the camera man seems to concentrate on their faces or is too busy swirling the camera around being 'arty'. As for the female singers - even worse than last year

As for the female singers - even worse than last year I was meaning to ask you which dance are learning? Is it fun? Also have you seen a wonderful movie called 'Shall we dance?' which came out some years back. It's about taking dance lessons. Really good Japanese movie with English subtitles. I've seen it a couple of times and enjoyed it. The Japanese actor is terrific in his role as a student of dance. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes foreign films.

They are very popular at the moment due to the success of Strictly Come Dancing. We expected to be there with a lot of more senior aged people (we are in our 40's) but, in fact, we are probably one of the older couples Lots of young couples in their 20's. It's fabulous that it's become trendy again. So far we have learned a basic quickstep, waltz, cha cha cha, rumba and social foxtrot. We have also learned some sequence dances - rumba one, square tango, mayfair quickstep etc etc. We have been having lessons since January.

I've never taken dance lessons unless you count the ones given by our gym teacher in senior high to prepare us for the year end social at the local all boys high school. It seems like another age, another lifetime really. Very exciting stuff. lol We were all dressed up only to find that the boys were all in their school uniforms Another embarrassing detail was that only one boy had the courage to approach me for a dance and even then he was more interested in chatting than dancing. I just wanted to go home. ;D Tho I have to say dancing at parties is very enjoyable. Since January? Must've progressed quite a bit then by now.

Since January? Must've progressed quite a bit then by now. I think we have progressed such that we could dance competently to most things. Our teacher is very strict in that we are taught properly - rise and fall and proper holds etc etc. I know of a number of local dance schools where they just teach the basic steps. We are being taught different corner turns and dance patterns in each dance. We only have 2 hours per week and so I think we have progressed really well. This time last year, we could barely shuffle around a floor ;D

According to Germaine Greer, Martina Hingis lost in the first round because of the dress she had on during the Rumba dance. The deep V plunging neckline revealed her 'muscular chest' which turned off the judges it seems. After seeing the YouTube clip I tend to agree with her assessment. I wish she had someone advising her on her clothes, would've made a difference. Other then that I thought she came out much better than her competition. Poor Martina losing to the stuffed shirt guy. She was one of my fave Tennis players. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8nlS2_j3hc

Didn't want to start a new thread. I see that Dancing on Ice starts again tonight and Jeremy Sheffield (CUFA) is a contestant. It's gonna be a long way down when he falls over Isn't he 6' 6" tall?? At least he will fall with grace as he's a former professional ballet dancer..... There are two other Mandana connections - Gary Lucy who shared scenes with her in her recent Bill episodes is in it as is Sinitta. This link is a bit more tenuous - just look up David Essex and Mutiny Hell! I live in Hell! Hell, Hell burns free!"
