Y No PayPal button?? Oh, my. It will be there somewhere I am just so pleased that MJFC uses flattering photos and isn't pre occupied with pictures from the Nikki era. I don't think Blue Splodge has one main photo (beyond actual screengrabs in the TV section) where MJ doesn't have short hair. It is not representative of her career at all.

The last time I checked I couldn't see the PayPal buttom either. Also MJNET have just uploaded the Gloria Hunnniford interview with Mandana and Helen Fraser. It's funny how ALL OF A SUDDEN they are giving us all this Mandana stuff. Could they be trying to compete with MandanaFC?

It's funny how ALL OF A SUDDEN they are giving us all this Mandana stuff. Could they be trying to compete with MandanaFC? It'd be nice if they at least gave us stuff that's not already available on YouTube. I saw that interview eons ago. Considering they apparently (allegedly?) have Mandana's ear (and/or her agent's), I've always wondered why we were never given anything really unique. Oh, sure, we got the London Bridge tape that MJ was going to throw out, but really, beyond that, what have we been given over the years? That site-as it so likes to advertise- has been around since 2001. Six years. The content doesn't really seem to reflect the "relationship" they imply they have with Mandana, nor does it reflect the length of time the site's been active. Of course, it went almost one full year "under construction", and you can't do much if you never update. HOWEVER, I do try to look at it in a somewhat positive way- as I've said in the past, if they see the FC as competition and that spurs them to do more, that is always going to be a good thing. Still haven't seen a word about the third Green Flag advert on their site (or MJ message board) though... Get on the ball, girls.

Great news that the other board has finally woken up & given us more stuff on Mandana although as you say it is all on Youtube & I have it anyway on disc. Its nice to see it again. Dont know what is going on over there its just a shame it couldnt go back to how it was in the beginning...it was a very nice..very well run site by a big Mandana fan..shame it all changed.

I've always wondered why we were never given anything really unique. Yes, I had noticed that all these frantic updates are just old stuff that they had failed to keep on the site following unnecessary revamps. They had that site lying dormant at the very time they knew BG was going to be broadcast on BBC America and then Logo. Only now are they putting stuff back up that was donated to them years ago. I am sure it is no coincidence that this happens straight after the start of this thread and also your opening a youtube account with clips and offering fans free DVD's. Going back to the LB clip, I notice that they still haven't bothered to put up the other clip of Simone and Mandana that they admitted to having and would put up 'when we have time'. I'm sure fans would much prefer to see that than old interviews that have been on youtube for a long time. As for Green Flag, they have supposedly seen the 'other advert' but didn't have a DVD in to record it. Now, would that be the mysterious 'spoken' advert or the advert they nicked off MJFC or the one on the Green Flag official site, I wonder? Shania Twain will be pleased

Yeah, I've noticed that all the content of their updates is material that, by rights, should have already been on the "new" site, as all that material was on the old one! I'll tell you, it only takes a bit of self-discipline to transfer files. Yes, it is incredibly tedious! And they claim to have over 200 pages. (But again, that's because they have no concept of space management- one page for the gaffer interview from Powers? Please.) But in the end, the majority of the work is copying from the old page code and pasting it into the new page code. If they made a page template (one that includes the code for the banner and the menu and the statcounter they have hidden), it cuts the work in half, because you then just literally paste in the old code. Sure, you've got to do a bit of tweaking if you're adding pictures, but really! Five pages could EASILY be done in an hour. The rest is you determining how much dedication you want to put into it. An hour a day? You could have the site done in a month and a half. Hell, doing TWO pages a day would still only take you seven months. MJ.net was not updated in over NINE months last year. And the new site's been up for what- at least eight months? So almost a year and a half has gone by and the old contents are STILL trickling in? That's dedication to an actress! /sarcasm Oh, that's right, I had forgotten about that promise! That's obviously being held on to in the event something happens that makes them look like they're out of the loop again. Distract the punters with something shiny to avert their attention from what's going on. Considering they've never mentioned the third advert, yeah, it's a bit confusing. I don't believe there's a talking advert out there; certainly not right now. So it's either the 2nd one they nicked from us, or it's the third one from the Green Flag site that they haven't mentioned. Hahahaha!! For those who don't know the joke, there's a Shania Twain website hosted under the same server as all the Mandana/Simone/Bad Girls sites. So when you click on the PayPal button, thinking you're paying to keep these MJ/SL/BG sites going, you're also paying for a Shania Twain site (that has no such PayPal button... and surprise! Is under construction!) and something called mucklewickhorsecarriage, registered to someone related to Sara (William is his name and yet another surprise- doesn't appear to have been updated since 2006). (For the record, the message boards are free to run- they have the old versions that were offered when invisionfree was actually free. So your money isn't going to the messageboards.) If you donate to either MJ.net, SL.net or any of the message boards, you should go check those sites out! Might as well see what your money is getting you!

Yeah, I've noticed that all the content of their updates is material that, by rights, should have already been on the "new" site, as all that material was on the old one! You see, this is what I find strange. Why take down a perfectly acceptable old site that has everything already on it to revamp and then not bother with it properly for 18 months? When fans questioned the lack of a site they were rebuffed with the usual 'we do have a life, you know!' That's fine, they are entitled to one but why choose to make work for yourself when you then claim to be too busy? I just think complacency set in and a bit of competition has shocked them into action. Ah yes but Splodgy Blue said they have been informed there were two adverts and she spoke in one. If Splodgy announced it, it must be true because they don't deal in rumours....

What I never understood was why didn't they work on the new one behind the scenes? Why not keep the old one up, with all its information, and work on a new site at the same time? All they'd have to do is put a number (or whatever they wanted) after the original file name. For instance, if I work on the home page of the FC - which is "home.html"- before the Sunday update I copy the page, but rename it "home2.html". Then, when Sunday rolls around, I delete the original "home.html" and rename home2 as simply "home". Now, going through and having to rename 200+ pages (or whatever it is they have) is, again, tedious. But if you do it all behind the scenes, you can do it at your own pace without people thinking you're lazy and that you don't really give a toss. And as I said, if you did all the work behind the scenes, it could take you 18 months and no one would know the difference. I mean, really, imagine RM and I opening the FC, but only having the home page and a page with Amazon ads, then saying, "the rest of the pages are under construction- will be up soon!" Who does that? Who creates a website but unveils it to the internet half done... let alone keeping it "under construction" for 18 months and STILL asking money for it?! I see they have no problem getting Simone caps out of the latest WitB episodes lickety-split, and capping takes MORE time to do than copying and pasting web page codes. So this idea of, "We have lives!!!111" seems to only apply to an actress with whom they continue to claim they have a special relationship. Everybody has lives; some of us even have jobs! But some of us are also just better at managing our time. But... we know there are at least three- four if you count a talking one. Or were they informed there were two MORE after we found "Clicker"?

But... we know there are at least three- four if you count a talking one. Or were they informed there were two MORE after we found "Clicker"? Sorry Coolbyrne, I was just being sarcastic. We know there are at least three without dialogue but Splodgy - the one with the special relationship - have only mentioned 2 and stated at the start that 'we have been informed that there are 2 and she speaks in the other '. They are always closing threads and rapping knuckles when fans 'speculate' and this was a clear example of them doing just that and getting burned.

Ahh, but see, if you keep up the "under construction" home page for a reeeeeally long time, then it gives the impression that you're working diligently behind the scenes, toiling away in front of a computer screen to give the fans the bestest web page ever, so you obviously deserve every bit of that money for which you ask. Or, maybe you have the attention span of a gnat and you only start sniffing around the fandom again when a certain television show starts attracting attention from a new set of fans, so you decide 'hey, this would be a good time to get off our asses and finish that page 'cause we could use it to impress the noobs with our exclusivity and regain our status in the MJ fandom.' Why, yes, I woke up on the snarky side of the bed this morning. Why do you ask? ;D But yeah, coolbyrne's right. It does take a long time to make screencaps, especially when you're distracted by such a lovely and talented actress such as Mandana. Unless, of course, you just make a cap of damn near every frame. I haven't seen the new WITB screencaps yet, but I have seen their previous work. I have to give them credit - I didn't think it was possible to stretch out a moment such as Nikki blinking at Helen over an entire web page, but I'll be damned if they didn't prove me wrong. (The cure for snark is coffee, isn't it? )

I figured you were being sarcastic, but not 100% sure. See, with all the double-speak at the Splodgy site (I love that term, by the way!), I can't keep track of what exactly they may be talking about. When we do it here, we're going to do it in blue. Then you'll know we mean business!!! Ah, you're right, that makes sense. I never thought of that! Very clever! You know, I actually thought it leaned more towards this than anything. Had Bad Girls not been picked up by a station accessible to a lot of people (and by a station who was committed to showing the damn thing- hello, BBC America!), I wonder if we would have seen any changes over there at all? But NOW, there's a whole new legion of fans to impress!
