Oh and as it was a digital photo for the ride it was on display for ages.

Ok, well here is the story of my encounter with the woman of all of our dreams! (Have tried to make it sound dramatic and exciting while sticking to the truth of what was really quite a brief experience.) I was at Legoland enjoying a day out with my hubby and 2 year old son when it started to drizzle so we went into the entrance of the lazier raiders shop to get a bit of shelter. While we were waiting there a woman and child walked past so close to us that the woman's sleeve literally brushed my arm. I looked at her and thought to myself 'my god she looks just like Mandana' but naturally didn't really think much of it at first. Then I heard her say "Enzo, don't go too far off as I have the pass" (or words to that effect.) It was then that my heart started beating like the clappers, my legs turned to jelly and I lost all power of cohearent speech. It had to be Mandana, who else would look exactly like her, sound exactly like her and have a son called Enzo to boot!? I was frozen to the spot, totally aghast and in awe, with the only audible sound I was able to make being a mixture of squee's and Oh my God's! When I eventually got some semblance of control over myself and had managed to squeak out to hubby what the matter was, I followed her into the shop, fully intending to say hi, declare my admiration, and ask for a photo and autograph. Trouble was, that when I got within a couple of meters of her I just turned to jelly again! My poor hubby then had to wait ages with me by the lazer raiders photo shop so that I could see her photo and maybe pluck up the courage to speak to her when she got off the ride. Well, I bought the ride photo, but as my son was getting restless, left before she got back to the shop. I did manage to get a couple of pics of her in the background of some of my son on a Lego camel and a couple of her watching the pirate show, ( which we had already seen so hubby wouldn't let me go see it again so I could stand next to her and have an excuse to strike up conversation - he just doesn't understand!) but no other chance to actually speak to her. For the rest of the day I was on tenterhooks looking out for her and praying she would be near us in a queue, but alas it wasn't to be and I didn't see her again. Of course I am now totally kicking myself for not speaking to her, even if it would have just been a string of gobeldy-gook. Plus my poor hubby is sick of me going on about it, especially when I went back to Legoland on sat and couldn't help sighing when I got to the spot where she brushed past my arm. My ride keyring with her on takes pride of place with my keys and I look at it whenever I feel down and, despite hubby's protests I will always keep a slight lookout for her at Legoland from now on just in case! Well that's my story of my biggest missed opportunity ever but I'm still on cloud nine whenever I think of it as I try to take the grounds of 'she probably would prefer to have an undisturbed day with Enzo anyway and not have a crazy fan swooning over her'. Lol. Am I obsessed? Maybe, but I don't care, Mandana is gorgeous in all senses of the word so who wouldn't be!? That was a fun read, operagoth. Very enjoyable. ;D Yes totally.

Oh and I look forward to becoming an active member of this board and look forward to 'WADEing' (see what I've done there? Couldn't resist the corny joke) through all the previous posts. So when did you become a Mandana fan?

Well Operagoth is here thanks to a kind invite! Really? Please say it isn't so! How many colours is it? All I can think is that it's for a part. Or it's a disguise that isn't very effective. Or she was after a role in the pirate show... And I have to agree with Top, Mandana's hair looks messy and weird at least in the photo. Looks like she has a whole bunch of white hair on the top which gives the impression she has something on her head. On the side it looks as if she's wearing earmuffs. But it's good to know it looks better in RL. ;D BTW does Enzo look like her?

I've been a Mandana fan ever since I first clapped eyes on her in the first episode of BG. I used to rush home from 'girls brigade' early so that I never missed an episode and was just so totally in love with her and Simone. My hubby doesnt really understand why I love her so much, but luckily he doesn't mind a bit - well, apart from my constant blabbing about Legoland that is! (Though he did make me laugh once when I said that I would never leave him for anyone unless Mandana or Simone turned up at our house declaring their undying love for me. His reply was along the lines of "Well I'm afraid I couldn't let you leave me, however I would be quite willing to share as long as you were too! LOL!) I didn't really get a good look at Enzo, and he isn't really in any of the pics much, but from what I remember he does look quite like Mandana - he's certainly a cutie!

Actually, it's a bit rubbish! She's turned sideways and not looking at the camera, and is right on the corner of the pic - but I know it's her! That is one pic I will not ever post on the net though as it features the other people she was with just as prominently as it features her and to post that really wouldn't be fair.

But it's good to know it looks better in RL. ;D I feel completely hypocritical going on about the hair. Operagoth, if you get around to reading some of the other threads on here, you will see that one of my bugbears is, whenever Mandana has a new role, her hair seems to be the sole topic of conversation amongst certain fans ("boo hoo, it's not like Nikki Wade") However, the hair at Legoland is so 'out there' that I can't help myself! You mentioned that she just has a blonde streak at the front. However, from the photographs, it looks like there is a heavy black fringe under the blonde and then the grey on top. Now, the reason I thought it was some kind of freaky ski hat was because there appears to be a line running from her ear to the black patch at the front. Is it that she is actually wearing wrap around sunglasses perched on her head or something? You mentioned that you have been a fan since BG first aired. Were you ever a poster on either Larkhall Insider or Bad Girls online?

No I never posted on those as have only just recently found all the websites since watching BG over again! I don't remember Mandana wearing sunglasses at LL but I was honestly on such a tizz that she could've been wearing comedy goggles and a clown hat and all I would have noticed was that it was her! Lol. I've read loads of the posts so far and was gonna reply to the Mandana vs Simone topic but may start a new one on a similar vein. I love both of them equally but for different reasons so.... Mind you I kinda do like Mandana most now CIA it so true that the camera doesn't flatter as I had never seen anyone so gorgeous as Mandana in RL. (Checking my hubby ain't reading this over my shoulder.lol)

Just wanted to say what a fantastic story and thank you for sharing it, operagoth! Nice to see some threads getting some life, too!

the poster on that other board freaks me out, so god knows what poor Mandana would think if she ever read the posts! It would appear that, after months and months and months, of weird and ever increasingly personal posts, action has finally been taken. Strange that the action taken is to close every forum! Anyway, I guess we need to keep our fingers crossed that Panther's don't find their way over here Your thread now appears first OG.

Indeed we must. At least on here the panthers will get felt with appropriately. There will be no feeling of the panthers. As you say, top, I do find it odd that the only sensible recourse for the mods appears to be... deleting and closing 99% of the threads? Does invisionfree boards not offer a moderating option so that mods can check the post before everyone else sees it? And while I know it'd be a pain in the ass to deal with an ever-changing IP address, I think if these posts were deleted as soon as they were posted (if you're not going to moderate her posts before they go "live"), I suspect the poster would get frustrated and quit posting. But you'd have to be diligent every single day, and I'm not sure there's much to be had outside one particular thread on that board.

No there isn't much on that board now. It's a shame because it looks like it was once a thriving community that, possibly, Mandana herself contributed to in some way. Ah well.
